Iran’s ‘The Hand and the Egg’ to vie at Seoul filmfest

The Seoul Int'l Children’s filmfest in South Korea is to host Iran’s ‘The Hand and the Egg’.

The Seoul International Children’s Film Festival (SICFF) in South Korea has been slated to host Iran’s ‘The Hand and the Egg’.

Directed by Fatemeh Gharavi-Manjili, the 6-minute animation will hit the screen at the Cine Kid competition section of the 10th edition of the Korean event.

‘The Hand and the Egg’ is the fantastical story of a cheerful little girl who goes on a journey with a tiny bird to help find her missing egg. The culprit is a mysterious long hand that reaches everything and has been stealing every bird’s eggs.

The short flick has already been screened at various global events, including the Tracce Cinematografiche filmfest in Italy and the Tehran International Animation Film Festival, where it grabbed an honorary award.

The SICFF aims to discover great contents that children can enjoy. It also gives room to voices from all over the world for the next generation to be heard.

The fest promotes the idea for the children to discover a better world and for the grown-ups to dream about a better future.

This year’s edition of the event has taken up 145 films from 47 countries.

Set to be held on June 15-22, the festival will also play host to Iran’s ‘The Winner’ directed by Ali Keyvan, ‘Water, Wind, Dust, Bread’ by Mehdi Zamanpour-Kiasari, and Mehdi Hosseinivand’s ‘Asteroid’.
